The year marked a commendable number of 15 outlets being open, bringing the total of LHD-owned outlets to 33. This gallantly accounts for the highest number of own outlets opened by any healthcare provider within a time span of one year.

With its optimistic goal to reach 50 outlets in total within 2020, LHD sets the foundation to a platform of breakthrough convenience and simplicity with on-site and mobile services available at the closest proximity of the patient’s own home or any place of preference. LHD with its notable and strategic penetration has covered all key geographical locations inclusive of areas in the north and east along with Anuradhapura.

Hand in hand with world-leading testing procedures and a dedicated product portfolio, the country-leading laboratory service provider continued to align the needs of their patients and market demands to the overall strategy, with a bid to enhance synergies across the company.

Commenting on their success, owing mainly to the timely expansion of own-brand outlets, LHD Head of Marketing Sampath Thotawatte said, “Our expansion plans are based on a strategic focus – to provide and uplift the standards of laboratory services that will meet the growing demand for high-quality Medicare attention in areas of high population density. Each of our outlets presents the best in equipment, team, and technology to cope with the challenges posed by changing disease patterns and in improving the healthcare across many deserving localities in the country.”

Synonymous with its reputation in providing high quality and accurate medical testing and diagnostics services all across the country, the transformation strategy of LHD entered a fresh phase in 2019. The strategic blueprint was expanded to encompass a wider range of processes for efficiency enhancement and secured the first re-accreditation endeavor by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based upon a lengthy process of onsite inspections by the best of experts around the world.

LHD also strengthened its fleet of mobile laboratory services with dedicated personnel made available for patients across Colombo and the suburbs who meet certain criteria at the request of a physician.

As the only medical health laboratory in Sri Lanka to achieve the gold standards in laboratory accreditation in the world, LHD has been awarded the most prestigious quality assurance recognition from the College of American Pathologists, USA. CAP is the most difficult and stringent accreditation to be obtained.
